Maya Spiritual Healing

The Wisdom of Water Plants and Prayer

Maya Spiritual healing addresses emotional and spiritual conditions common to all beings.

In Maya healing, physical ailments are not separated from spiritual ailments. For thousands of years, the Maya healing system looked at the ailments of the body as a whole, and addressed the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual together.

Fortunately, modern medicine is beginning to recognize the healing wisdom of the Maya and other ancient cultures. Numerous studies have underlined the link between high blood pressure, arthritis, heart disease, asthma, bronchitis, digestive problems and more with unresolved emotional and spiritual, stress and distress. Neuroscience explains how brain chemistry affects our mental and emotional states. Psychotherapists and medical doctors are once again taught to consider the importance of the mind-body connection in disease treatment.

Often emotional/spiritual ailments can be expressed physically, but treating the physical symptoms does not heal the cause.

Maya healers determine what ailment(s) someone has with a Pulse analysis, and by doing a La Plática, (the talk) which is a conversation about their health history.

The tools used for healing are:  Grounding, Prayer, Love, Faith, Spiritual Baths, Incense, Plants, Lustral Water, Herbal Teas, Space Clearing, Amulets, Laughter/Humor, Intuition, Dream Visions, Ritual and Ceremony.

ITZ KU – SPIRITUAL BATHING

Itz Ku in Mayan, means a ‘spray of sacred divine force.’ Lustration is another word for Spiritual Bath. The word luster means ‘light.’

The quality of an auric or energetic field is a blueprint for what can eventually manifest in the physical body. A Spiritual Bath energetically harmonizes auric fields, like a physical and spiritual elixir, opening channels for the High Self within each person to guide, comfort and advise.

When herbs are added to Spiritual Baths the combination of the healing powers of water, love, faith, prayer, plants, light and energy, absorb and wash away all that does not serve a divine purpose. This supercharged energy excites molecular particles in the cells of the body to vibrate to an oscillation in tune with the harmonies of heaven. The result is a feeling of lightness, clarity, cleansing and renewed energy at a profoundly deep level.

Spiritual baths are an excellent way to celebrate rites of passage, such as puberty, menopause, marriage, birth, and death. Post-surgical clients need them

to cleanse Susto from their energies after their experiences in the surgical room. Doulas and Midwives recommend that Mom’s birth into a spiritual bath – what a lovely way to join this world!

Don Elijio taught Rosita over 200 plants to use in Spiritual Baths. Find which plant allies call to you and learn how to use them. Once you recognize the appropriate way to harvest and use plants with intention and prayer the plants in turn are delighted that you recognize them for their ability to heal.

SPIRITUAL BATHING FOR YOURSELF

It’s essential that you care for your own energy and regularly enjoy your own Spiritual Baths. Rosita mentions that Friday is a good day to do them. Whatever the reason for doing a bath the routine remains the same. Proceed with faith in the prayers, love, plants, water, incense, your Divine Higher Power and set your intention for healing.

Just like you have to clean your house more than once a month, you have to do a spiritual bath more than once a month.
